Train derailment reported near Fayette Mall & Shillito Park


A train derailment has been reported near Fayette Mall and Shillito Park. Areas within 500 feet of the derailment site have been evacuated.


Smoke from the derailment is blowing east toward Nicholasville Road. Citizens are asked to avoid the area and stay indoors. Several road closures are in place.

Updates will be issued when more information is available. Additional details on the nature of the incident and a preliminary impact assessment will be provided to the media and the public as soon as they are available and confirmed.
